SATURDAY TRAFFIC FATALITY

The Florida Highway Patrol says a 24-year-old man was killed in a one-vehicle traffic crash over the weekend. Troopers said he was southbound on Fairfield Drive when his pickup truck went off the road, struck a culvert and overturned. The driver was pronounced dead at the scene.MORE

FAMILY DOLLAR STORE DAMAGED BY FIRE

Escambia Fire Rescue says a weekend fire destroyed a house and damaged a Family Dollar Store on Davis Highway. Additional fire units were dispatched and the fire was brought under control just after midnight.
