Pensacola’s Police Chief is retiring. Chief Tommi Lyter says he will before the end of the year and will beome chief deputy at the Escambia County Sheriff’s Office. PENSACOLA POLICE OFFICER CLEARED IN SHOOTING

The State Attorney’s Office announced Wednesday that no criminal charges will be filed against a Pensacola Police officer involved in a non-fatal shooting earlier this year. 24-year-old Ke’vontarious Wilson. FATAL SHOOTING INVESTIGATION

The Escambia County Sheriff’s Office says one man was killed and another man hospitalized with multiple gunshot wounds. 4TH MURDER SUSPECT ARRESTED

A fourth suspect in a fatal triple shooting November 30th in Century has been arrested. 18-year-old E’monee Long was taken into custody in Brewton, Alabama and is awaiting extradition to Escambia County, Florida, to face charges including premeditated first-degree murder.  Three other people were charged in the days following the shooting. APALACHICOLA BAY OYSTER HARVESTING SHUT DOWN

The Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission has shut down oyster harvesting in Apalachicola Bay through the end of 2025 because  of a dwindling oyster population. The area has historically produced 90% of the state’s oysters. The state is using a 20-million-dollar grant to help restore the bay and a portion of the oyster fishery.…MORE
